For nearly 40 years I have had the privilege of making a living doing something I love. It has taken me all over the world, and fueled the passion I have for the sport. With the help of many fishermen I have designed hundreds of lures, made lots of friends, and spent a lifetime in a sport I love. For this I am very thankful for the support from you, the fishermen. As I have aged the passion I have for fishing and design hasn’t changed, but the business end took all of the fun out . Enter Yakama Bait Co. For those of you who are not familiar with them, they are a well established lure company, based out of Yakima, Washington, which has done a great with the trout and salmon market with lures such as the Rooster Tail, Flat Fish. Several years ago they started making a move into the bass market purchasing Poe’s and Hildebrandt, two well established names. When they asked if I would be interested in selling and joining the team, I saw a chance to do all the things I love to do and they could handle the business end. I made trips to there two production facilities and was very pleased with the quality they produced. I feel that the lures I have put my heart and sole in will only get better. |

| Cranking grass or timber has been a very effective method for catching fish since the first lipped lure hit the water. And for just as long cranking that same structure has frustrated fishermen. Now the LIP GUARD SYSTEM eliminates that frustration, and allows you to crank water punishable before. We use a weedless hook made specially for cranking. The fine wire protects the hook point from grass or timber, but collapse easily when fish bite down. By running your line through the eye on the Lip Guard Wire and then tying it to the split ring as you usually do, the Lip Guard Wire protects the lip, keeping debris from hanging. Combining the two, makes the lure virtually weedless. |
This shallow runner can be waked just under the surface with the rod tip up, or a couple of feet down by lowering your rod tip to the water. Either way the LIP GUARD SYSTEM keeps it free from hanging. Weighing 3/8 oz and 2 inches long this little lure has big vibration. |
Like it’s shallow brother this medium diver has a great vibration, running 3-5 ft. |
The deepest diver of the THUMPER series this little lure gets big depths diving 7-9 ft. It’s LIP GUARD SYSTEM keeps it from getting into grass and wood while its hard thumping action attracting big hits. |

This twitch bait, with it’s LIP GUARD SYSTEM is the best way to fish grass up to the surface. As long an the grass isn’t matted the Weedless Stick Bait will walk through surface grass. Just twitch it driving it under the surface, then allow it to float to the surface. The Lip Guard will push the grass out of the way. Weighing in at nearly ½ oz and 4 inches long this is the perfect lure for your shallow water fishing. |
Want a lure which you can crank into the grass, stop it, let it just hang in that spot and then slowly work it through the standing grass or tree tops at 3-5 ft. The Weedless Skinny P with it’s LIP GUARD SYSTEM does just that. Or you can just crank this flat-sided lure through the same structure. |
Ok by now you may be a little skeptical as James Hall was when I made the same clime to him. But a few cast and he was a believer. Want a lure which you can crank into the grass, stop it, let it just hang in that spot and then slowly work it through the standing grass or tree tops at 7-9 ft. The Weedless Skinny P with it’s LIP GUARD SYSTEM does just that. Or you can just crank this flat-sided lure through the same structure. |

In the early 70’s I designed a lure which has been a favorite ever since. That was the KILLER B 2 It has taken over 30 years to improve it but, when we add the LIP GUARD SYSTEM to it we have combined the fish catching action with an ability to fish it in almost any structure. We have a lure which is truly a bait of the future. It weighs in at ½ oz and is 2 1/5 inches long. |

The Weedless Diving Killer P has all of the fish catching ability of the Killer P 2, but it does it in 7-9 ft. One of the best ways to fish it is to drive it into the thick grass on the bottom and then let the high flotation of balsa back it out. This stop-and-go method on top of thick grass has been very effective. But if you are looking for a reaction strike try driving it off of wood or grass at higher speeds. |

For years I have been asked by the Pros to build balsa lures like we did back in the 70's. These lures have been sought after, hoarded, and bought for many times their ordinal price. Now we build balsa lures using the same hand selected balsa, built the same way, by some of the same people. Many people believe all balsa is the same but in fact there are several grades. We use the hardest grade same as we did in the 70's. We put lips in the right place, wired in the correct location and center weight the lure, all to get that just right action, just like we did in the 70's. Some fishermen have come to believe that the brass wire that we used in the 70's is the reason the lures worked so well. Actually the brass wire indicates that the lure was built back in the 70's when we put lips in the right place, wired in the correct location and center weight the lure, all to get that just right action. We have been able to make some real improvements. Our flash back finish has tiny sparkle in it which gives the whole lure a better flash pattern. We have also added special 3D eyes which give off flashes as the lure moves through the water. Usually the first thing you see as the lure approaches the boat is the flash from the eyes. |

When Fred Young designed the first modern day crank bait, he used a circuit board lip. Now we use a 1/32 inch thickness instead of the 1/16 he used. This allows the lip to cut through the water quicker getting a little more depth and a quicker action. |
To our proven colors, we added a special Pixie Dust to give them a unique sparkle and flash. We added a few new colors and put special 3D eyes which give off more flash on all of our Premium Balsa.br>

For over 30 years my goal has been to produce the finest quality wood lures at a price every fisherman can afford. I have been able to keep the price down by developing production systems using experience gained over 30 years. My first 12 years I spent developing and producing lures at Bagley Baits where we set the standards for quality lures. Since then I have continued designing and producing wood lures continuing to improve the lures as well as production techniques. This may be the reason when PRADCO, Strike King, Manns, Arbogast, Bass Pro, Cabellas, and Wal-Mart wanted to add a wooden lure to there line, they came to LEE SISSON LURES. |
